Adds an artifact to a UWP (Windows) app version.

Uploads a per-version artifact such as a UWP framework dependency package (.msix/.appx) for a TENANT_WINDOWS_UWP app version.

About Tenant App Version Artifacts UWP (Universal Windows Platform) apps can require additional framework dependencies or signing certificates beyond the main app package. Artifacts let Esper store and deploy these supporting files alongside a specific app version, rather than bundling everything into the app package itself.

Key Fields / Query Parameters

  • appId — UUID of the tenant app
  • versionId — UUID of the specific app version to attach the artifact to
  • artifact_type — A .msix/.appx framework package
  • file — The artifact file to upload

Common Use Cases

  • Attaching a required framework dependency package to a UWP app version so it installs successfully
  • Uploading a signing certificate needed to validate a UWP app package
  • Managing multiple supporting files across different versions of the same Windows app

Best Practices

  • Confirm artifact_type matches the actual file being uploaded — dependency packages and certificates are validated differently
  • Upload all required dependencies before attempting to deploy the app version to devices
  • Keep track of which artifacts belong to which versionId, since artifacts are version-scoped, not app-wide

Workflow

  1. Identify the appId and versionId the artifact belongs to
  2. POST the artifact file with the correct artifact_type
  3. Confirm successful upload before deploying that app version to Windows devices
